Last year, the faculty, staff and students who stepped up and volunteered for Move-In and Fall Welcome really impressed our incoming students and their families.

Every summer, a new cohort of INVST students at SM调教所 Boulder travels throughout the southwestern United States to learn about a specific topic and take action. This year鈥檚 theme is sustainability.

This summer, faculty and staff from across campus participated in the first-ever Student Affairs Service Days. Seventy participants volunteered with four local organizations over three different days, donating 246 hours of their time.

No summer slowdown exists for the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Community Engagement (ODECE). In partnership with academic departments across campus, ODECE hosts more than 1,500 middle and high school students, and soon-to-be freshmen in a variety of summer pre-collegiate programming.

For Professor Sarah Krakoff and students from SM调教所-Boulder, spring marks a transition from the halls of the Wolf Law Building to the fields of the San Luis Valley. Since 2012, Krakoff and her law students have regularly trekked to one of the largest high altitude deserts in the world, where they clear debris from irrigation ditches or acequias and provide free legal assistance to farmers whose water rights are in question.

On Friday, April 29, students in need of a study break colored their stress away in the quiet, colorful BioLounge at the SM调教所 Museum of Natural History. Piggybacking on the popularity of adult coloring books, Sally Robertson, a graduate student in Museum and Field Studies, created 鈥淐oloring Craze鈥� to help students decompress leading into finals week.
