The University of Colorado has joined a new effort to help safeguard the newest frontier in national听security鈥攕pace. Researchers from SM调教所 Boulder and other SM调教所 campuses are participating in the听Space Force University Partnership, a program led by the United States Space Force, the youngest听branch of the armed forces.
The U.S. Space Force, launched in 2019, relies on service members called Guardians who often听have backgrounds in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. Through this research听partnership, SM调教所 Boulder will expand its offerings preparing tech-savvy young people with an eye for听the stars.
Universities were selected based on four criteria: the quality of STEM degree offerings and spacerelated听research laboratories and initiatives; a robust ROTC program; a diverse student population;听and degrees and programming designed to support members of the military, veterans and their听families as they pursue higher education.
Colorado鈥檚 aerospace economy鈥攖he largest per capita in the nation鈥攁nd SM调教所鈥檚 related workforce听and research capabilities make SM调教所 an ideal partner in developing Space Force鈥檚 workforce and听advancing the nation鈥檚 aerospace and national security capabilities.
