Weekend Getaway to Steamboat
Ski Town USA, aka Steamboat Springs, Colo., will be SMµ÷½ÌËù’s home base March 9-12, 2016 as the Buffs vie for their 21st NCAA ski championship.
All Forever Buffs are invited to attend the competition and play in the snowy wonderland.
The SMµ÷½ÌËù-Boulder Alumni Association has lined up ski deals and lodging packages for alumni, with half off second-night lodging at several area hotels and condos and on second-day lift tickets.
On March 10 SMµ÷½ÌËù ski legend and Olympian Billy Kidd (Econ’69) and SMµ÷½ÌËù ski team alumni will attend a gala dinner at the top of Steamboat Mountain, open to all who register.
There’s also all of Steamboat to explore: After skiing, soothe your muscles in Strawberry Park Hot Springs, visit the shops in town and come to the Alumni Association’s March 11 Buffs Bash at Aurum Food & Wine to stoke the collective SMµ÷½ÌËù spirit. The restaurant overlooks Steamboat’s Howelsen Hill, Colorado’s oldest continuously operated ski area and the site of one of the championship’s main spectator events — the men’s and women’s slalom.
SMµ÷½ÌËù-Boulder won its first national ski title in 1959. Only the University of Denver has more titles, with 22. We’re closing in!
