The founding members of the SM调教所 chapter of the Theta Nu Xi sorority are, left to right, Thanh Nguyen, Joan Park, Christine Thai, Midori Tran, Shantell Herbert, Kenaya Camacho and Linda Chang.

Representing Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, African American, Mexican American and Taiwanese backgrounds, SM调教所鈥檚 newest multicultural sorority,聽Theta Nu Xi, celebrated its chapter鈥檚 emergence on the Boulder campus last fall.

Founded by seven members, the SM调教所 chapter is the 27th undergraduate chapter opened by the national organization since its founding in 1997.

鈥淲e wanted to bring this sorority to our campus because it is very unique 鈥 our vision was to bring a historically multicultural organization to our campus in order to create a safe and welcoming environment for women of all backgrounds,鈥 says founding member Christine Thai. 鈥淲e would like to advocate multiculturalism at SM调教所 by serving as living examples of sisterhood across cultural boundaries.鈥

In accordance with the basic tenets of the sorority 鈥 scholarship, service, leadership, sisterhood and multiculturalism 鈥 the chapter is planning a series of events to celebrate both its induction into the Greek system and the spirit of multiculturalism on campus.
