The Department of Critical Media Practices is pleased to host special events that bring together practitioners and scholars for sustained interactions around special themes. 听

This year we are delighted to partner with the program in Intermedia, Art, Writing and Performance (IAWP) and the in hosting postdoctoral associate听Maryam Muliaee, who has organized the mini-series below.


Media Archaeology + Feminism听is a mini-series of themed talks and workshops for fall 2021 through听spring 2022,听organized by Post-doctoral Associate Maryam Muliaee and sponsored by the Department of Critical Media Practices in partnership with the Media Archaeology Lab (MAL) and the Intermedia Arts, Writing and Performance PhD Program (IAWP) at SM调教所.听

The invited speakers present their work in a refreshed individual perspective on the intersection of media archaeology and feminism. Through their talks and workshops, the guest speakers discuss how media archaeology, and its creative methodologies of remediation, can be placed in convergence with feminist-inspired ideas and tactics.

Bringing the SM调教所 communities together across different departments and programs from DCMP, MAL and IAWP, among others, this curated project explores how two fields can expand beyond their common boundaries to inform a variety of media art, critical making, creative practices听and theoretical research.听听
