SM调教所's Film Production club
Our club focuses on creating and producing student films. From script to screen, we will spend a semester working in collaboration to create one or more films depending on the club's size and dedication throughout the semester. We welcome all students interested in all aspects of film from acting, production, music, writing, and editing. We also accept all skill levels, as the main goal is to gain hands-on experience with other like-minded individuals working on a production crew.
Our goal is to produce at least one short/feature-length film or television pilot each Spring and Fall semester and to write/edit scripts during the previous semester. For example, anyone in Titan Productions that is interested in writing a script can join our weekly meetups. During these meetups, we'll form groups, brainstorm ideas, write scripts, and finalize screenplays to be used for future productions.
Our club is also planning on hosting a film festival for CINE students at the end of each Spring semester. We hope to showcase projects from individual students as well as from our production club.
Titan Productions hopes to be a flagship club for the SM调教所, celebrating all forms of art within.
Meeting Times
We meet throughout the academic year in the UMC building. Our Fall 2023 meetings are on Monday at 5PM. The first meeting will be held on September 11th in room 425.

2023 Titan Film Festival Winner
"The idea that one often has to look within themselves to deal with grief is what inspired me to write Edmund. The film is about a young college student who is forced to cope with the loss of his sister. I played the titular character Edmund and my sister, Julin Renji, played Amara and Alex. While my mother, Biji Renji, directed this film and was very much the guiding force for the team, I served as the technical head, most notably for music and editing.
Shot styles and image textures were intentionally very different in the flashback and present day sequences to highlight the contrast in the protagonist鈥檚 mental state. Juxtaposition and symbolism are the main narrative tools I used to enhance the story. Without spoiling much, the name of the protagonist and the title of the film, Edmund, is ironic because of its literal translation: rich protector. Another aspect of the film I鈥檇 like to note is the music. Music was used heavily to accentuate the various subtleties of the story, and as atmosphere for tense scenes.This is our first ever short film and it is incredibly encouraging to see that we were able to win the Audience Award at the film festival.
