The Brakhage Center for Media Arts鈥檚 AIR Program, established in 2021, is inspired by the exquisiteness of Stan Brakhage鈥檚 engagement with, and integration of, found footage, including scientific and other archival materials Brakhage Center residents receive a studio at the Brakhage Center, and a stipend, and with both the archival film collections, and the Stan Brakhage Papers, held in Rare and Distinctive Collections. Cody Norton鈥檚 presentation is titled 鈥淏irds of Prey: Acts of Reconstruction.鈥

Visual AIDS: A Day With(out) Art 2023

November 30th at 5 PM

The Brakhage Center is proud to collaborate with SM调教所鈥檚 LGBTQ Studies Program for the third year running, on A Day With(out)Art 2023 by presenting an all-new program of specially commissioned films. This year鈥檚 program, titled Everyone I Know Is Sick consists of five new videos generating connections between HIV and other forms of illness and disability. A day of mourning and action that uses art to respond to the ongoing HIV and AIDS crisis, Day With(out) Art encourages museums, universities, museums, and art institutions to present related programming on or around December 1, World AIDS Day. The program features new work by Dolissa Medina & Ananias P. Soria, Dorothy Cheung, Beau Gomez, Kurt Weston, and Hiura Fernandes & Lili Nascimento.
